On Friday 13th (unlucky for some!) after enjoying a good few hours togging at Penarth Pier I decided to go to Cosmeston Lakes for what I hoped was going to be a nice sunset. Well, I wasn't disappointed!! As the sun went down the views across the lake were absolutely breathtaking and I even spotted a Whooper swan, a rare sighting in these parts! Here are a few images to show you just how 'lucky' I was.

On Friday 13th January we were promised a little bit of decent weather for a change, so I charged up my camera batteries and took a drive down to Penarth Pier. It was a glorious day and Penarth was buzzing with people enjoying the lovely sunshine and blue skies. Whilst grabbing myself a hot chocolate and a nice toasted sandwich from Nicola's juice and coffee bar, I sat down next to an adorable lady called Audrey (in the large pic below) who I am told was in school with Margaret Thatcher and although MT was 3 years above her she said she still remembered her well! Audrey was also kind enough to pose for me so Audrey, if you read this, thank you so very much, it was lovely to meet you and as promised your picture will be on it's way to you soon!

Castell Coch meaning Red Castle is a 19th-century Gothic Revival castle and is built on the remains of a genuine 13th-century fortification. The building is chiefly known as a romantic folly supposedly....to read more and see my pics, go to my website and click on 'What's New'.

Christmas and new year was spent with family this year in the south of England. The weather wasn't particularly brilliant but a nice sunset was promised one evening so I legged it down to the beach with my camera (just a few minutes walk away) to try and catch a sunset.
